$TSLA vs. $NIO – when to buy and when to sell?

I did not beat the market indexes today because another company, Moderna, just announced that its effectiveness of the newest vaccine was up to 94.5%. A lot of tech companies fell again just like what had happened last Monday. However, I think it is the optimal time for us to buy some stocks because COVID-19 has changed the way people lived permanently. Any market crush is the time for investors to buy stocks with good financial positions. I bought a lot of stocks today, and if these companies kept falling, I would be willing to buy more.

$TSLA soared when S&P 500 announced that it would be included in this index. Fortunately, I vastly bought 4 stocks today, and $TSLA was one of them! I bought $TSLA because it was not only my first frequently-traded stock, but I believed that it would join S&P 500 at least in this quarter or next quarter. It’s been a while that the price of $TSLA did not fluctuate much, which was not good for day traders and long-term investors. As a day trader, I would definitely take partial profits when it rises too much; however, I’m also willing to hold some to wait for it to grow in the future.

Besides, $NIO will release its 2020 Q3 financial report today aftermarket. It rose in the premarket because of the news that $TSLA would join S&P 500. However, it does not have too much relation in terms of $NIO’s financial position. Therefore, I don’t consider it a rational behavior to buy when it rises so high. Instead, I will wait for its financial report. If $NIO falls after the release of the report, I’m willing to buy when it drops to 35 or below.

特斯拉VS.蔚來 – 什麼時候入場，什麼時候止盈？

今天由於新的疫苗利好消息，我並未打敗三大指數。就如同上星期一發生的那樣，大多數疫情受益的科技股再度下跌；然而，我認為這次科技股回調對投資者來說是一個很好的買入機會，因為疫情已永久改變人類的生活習慣。任何市場大幅度的回調，對投資者來說都是挑選好公司買入的時機。我在今天買入不少股票，如果這些公司繼續下跌，我也將買入更多。

由於標普500宣布將納入特斯拉至指數中，特斯拉在盤前暴漲。而很幸運的是，我在今天大量購買的四支股票中，其中一支就是特斯拉！我大量購入不單單只因特斯拉是我交易最頻繁的股票(高達90%勝率，其餘部分未平倉)，更是因為我深信特斯拉將會至少在這季度或下季度被納入標普500中。特斯拉已經連續好幾個星期沒什麼太大的波動，對於日內交易者或是長線交易者來說都不是太理想。身為一位短線交易者，開盤後我一定會部分止盈離場；然而，我也將願意持有一些，等待其未來的成長。

另外，蔚來將在11/17盤後發表2020第三季度財報。由於特斯拉被納入標普500的消息，蔚來在盤前也是漲了不少；然而，我並不認為現在追高是一個理性的行為，畢竟特斯拉的新聞對蔚來的基本面並沒有影響。目前我並未持有蔚來股票，我將在其發布財報後再來考慮是否該買回一些。如果其股價因財報而下跌，我願意以35或以下的價格陸續買入。
